Job Description

Due to internal staff movements, an exciting opportunity has become available in our Recreation Services team at Lords Recreation Centre for a Facility Operations Officer on a full-time fixed term (8 month) contract.

In this role, reporting to Coordinator Programs and Facilities, the successful applicant will manage the Recreation Centres facilities and participate in the development, and recommendation of policies and processes to support the centre's operations.

The key responsibilities of this role:

  • Schedule and deliver all emergency and reactive repairs and maintenance of assets and facility that ensures compliance with relevant standards, codes, regulations and legislation;
  • Supervise and monitor the progress of contractors undertaking building, facility and equipment repairs, maintenance and installation works in line with the schedule;
  • Undertake regular facility maintenance audits and manage the reported faults  to ensure the presentation of the facility exceeds standards;
  • Provide input into budget preparation, the raising of purchase orders and monitoring and reporting on financial performance with the City’s purchasing protocols and practices;
  • Oversee all aspects of aquatic management and ensure these are maintained to the standards required by the City under the industry code of practice, Health Act (swimming pools), Regulations, Public Health Department and City of Subiaco’s health department and local laws;  
  • Develop, review and implement procedures for safety and contractor management onsite in collaboration with relevant stakeholders e.g. hot works procedure, fire impairment procedure, etc;
  • Lead all Duty Managers in promoting a standard of service delivery by proactively identifying and resolving specific customer needs and exceeding their expectations;
  • Take on a coordinating role in line with emergency protocols in the event of a major centre emergency or aquatic incident;
  • Recruitment, selection and induction of new Duty Managers.

To be successful in this role you will have:

  • Proven experience and sound technical knowledge related to the operation of buildings or sites, maintenance and contract management 
  • Well-developed knowledge and understanding of the provisions of the Department of Health Regulations and Code of Practice applying to the operation of a Group 3 public aquatic centre
  • Well-developed ability to use corporate computer systems.
  • Current ‘C’ class Western Australian drivers’ licence

Salary Range: $84,000 - $90,960 per annum (pro-rata) plus 11% employer superannuation and additional co-contribution to your superannuation.
